The competition in Bigg Boss Season 9 is tightening, and two names continue to dominate discussions both inside and outside the house Immanuel and Tanuja. Even during last week’s weekend episode, host Nagarjuna asked contestants to identify the closest title contenders. The house split right down the middle, with equal votes for both, confirming that the two are seen as the strongest players in the race. But while their game is strong, their relationship has taken a dramatic downward turn.

Weekend Comment Sparks Unexpected War of Words
During the weekend task, housemates were asked to name their strengths and weaknesses. Immanuel stunned everyone when he declared Tanuja as his weakness. Though seemingly harmless, the comment triggered a major confrontation.
After the episode, Tanuja confronted him directly, accusing him of playing a “safe game” and claiming there was no bond between them for him to call her his weakness. “There’s no friendship, no connection not even as housemates after week three. Then how can I be your weakness?” she questioned assertively.
Immanuel admitted that he tends to take her words personally, which is why she becomes a weakness for him emotionally, but Tanuja remained unconvinced.
Rithu Adds Fuel to the Fire
Housemate Rithu intervened, revealing that Immanuel had earlier given Tanuja a special place in his priorities. However, Tanuja contradicted this, saying they had barely spoken in weeks, and that Immanuel himself avoids her most of the time.
Immanuel tried explaining that he feels connected in ways that don’t always involve conversation. But Tanuja demanded a clear example and their disagreement escalated. Eventually, Immanuel gave up the argument, saying: “Fine, maybe there’s no connection from my side either.”
“Stop Using My Name”: Tanuja Explodes Again
Things worsened when Tanuja overheard Immanuel discussing a captaincy-related conversation with Rithu. She stormed toward him, alleging that he constantly drags her name to justify himself. “Don’t use my name in your game. Don’t make it look like you support me or care for me. Just play your game,” she shouted.
Immanuel promised he would stop mentioning her name. Tanuja, still furious, replied: “Good. If you want a point, nominate me.”
Nagarjuna Steps In: “Why Question His Honest Opinion?”
The heated misunderstanding became a major talking point during the Sunday episode. When Nagarjuna addressed the rift, Immanuel said he wasn’t even sure what had gone wrong and chose silence because Tanuja seemed upset. Tanuja, however, narrated a long list of complaints:
- Immanuel never checks on her when she is hurt.
- He acknowledges her only during tasks or weekend discussions.
- She feels invisible to him most days.
- Earlier, she had even complained about his “mumbling talk,” which he brought up repeatedly.
Nagarjuna listened patiently before pressing her with one direct question: “If someone expresses a genuine opinion, why question it?” Tanuja insisted she didn’t question his opinion, but Nagarjuna pointed out her contradictory statements and advised her to try understanding intentions instead of nitpicking details. Even after a lengthy exchange, Tanuja stood her ground, prompting Nagarjuna to firmly conclude the discussion.
Gaurav Faces Eviction; Tanuja Declines to Use Power
The Sunday episode also featured Naga Chaitanya as a guest. He introduced his new racing team and engaged the housemates in a fun game segment. Toward the end, Divya and Gaurav entered the danger zone. Audience votes saved Divya, placing Gaurav at risk of eviction.
Tanuja still possessed a special saving power, which could overturn the audience’s decision and protect Gaurav. However, she chose not to use it. “I want to respect the audience vote,” she said. As a result, Gaurav was officially eliminated from the Bigg Boss house.
